Ingredients
200g/8oz extra-large raw king prawns, defrosted 1 tbsp oil 1 tbsp plain flour 1 tsp Chinese five spice 4 spring onions, trimmed and chopped 1 red chilli, deseeded and chopped 1 clove garlic, peeled and sliced 1 tsp sea salt ½ x tsp freshly ground black pepper
Heat oil in a wok. Peel and de-vein the prawns.
Mix together the flour, five spice powder, salt and pepper. Toss the prawns in the spiced flour to coat thoroughly.
When the oil is hot, add the prawns and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through and crisp. Using a slotted spoon, remove them from the oil and drain on kitchen paper.
Add the spring onions, chilli and garlic to the pan and cook for around 30 seconds to a minute. Drain, then scatter over the prawns.
